Welcome to the latest edition of the SIM News & Views newsletter.

There has been so much going on over the last couple of weeks, that I thought it was about time I formally introduced myself and the team behind the SIM Event Series…

For more than 40 years, Quartz Business Media (QBM) has provided respected insight, commentary and business opportunities for the global manufacturing industry via its portfolio of leading trade journals, exhibitions, conferences and digital content.

While the SIM team is newer (and marginally younger) collectively, we maintain a global reach of more than 85,000 industry contacts. We’re also passionate about assisting heavy industry on the path to Net Zero and working with these sectors to form a collaborative approach when it comes to more sustainable manufacturing processes.

It is our belief that industry must work together, at scale, across sectors and right along the supply chain in order to lighten the impact of energy intensive manufacturing, which is why we are very excited about the potential behind the first in the SIM Event Series in Belgium, March 2022.

We also realise that to deliver real change, there is a need for support, guidance and information to be made readily available, which is what we also plan to offer at SIM.

A first step in this offering is the creation of a dedicated news portal, which will present all of the latest sustainability news from across the glass, aluminium, steel, cement and chemicals sectors.

With COP26 just around the corner, we will be keeping a keen eye on any heavy industry developments and providing up to date news and comments on the issues that matter.
