Fiskars Group will invest €10 million in electric furnaces for its Iittala glass factory in Hämeenlinna, Finland which will reduce the factory’s annual CO2 emissions by 74%.
Fiskars Group will replace the Iittala factory’s existing, natural gas-powered furnaces with electricity-powered furnaces.
The investment will reduce the factory’s CO2 emissions by approximately 10,000 tonnes a year (74%) and decrease nitrogen oxide and fine particle emissions.
The project will start next year and be completed in 2026.
