Geoffrey Drucker

Executive Director

Country Wide Hydrogen

Geoffrey commenced his renewables career at the State Electricity Commission of Victoria where he was charged with the responsibility of examining renewable energy opportunities for the state. In that role he assessed the traditional renewable energy resources of hydro, solar and wind, as well as the exotics like tidal, wave, geothermal, biomass and waste to energy and extensively socialised such opportunities under an award-winning program called “Energy for Tomorrow”.Fast forward to the 2010s when he was invited by a Victorian regional council to solve their energy security issues, the sole reason why businesses refused to relocate to their major town. That assignment was the genesis of a solar farm development and now several significant solar farms exist in the area.Through this project he was introduced to other regional councils that wanted to embrace renewables as a way of growing investment interest in their municipality. When Australia’s National Hydrogen Strategy was released, Geoffrey founded Country wide Hydrogen to focus on green hydrogen production.Today, his company hassix hydrogen projects in development in Australia, three in each of Tasmania and Victoria, and one in Indonesia with a global consortium. All begin as domestic supply projects with three capable of expanding the export scale projects, particularly the project in Indonesia.Countrywide Hydrogen was acquired by ASX-listed ReNu Energy Limited in February2022 .Recently the company announced project funding support from major superannuation fund HESTA to the tune of $100 million. Countrywide Hydrogen’s goal is to maintain investment in green hydrogen production and to be a reseller of hydrogen with refuelling and direct supply
